Happy Birthday Grand Master Chujiro Hayashi!

Today we wish Reiki Grand Master Chujiro Hayashi a Happy132nd Birthday! Master Hayashi is said to have organized Reiki into the three levels of traditional Usui Systems of Reiki (I, II, III), as well as create the hand positions that we as Reiki Practitioners still use today. Master Hayashi also ran the Reiki clinic in Japan that Master Usui founded before his death. Master Hayashi taught and attuned Hawayo Takata, who in turn was able to bring Reiki over to the US in the early 1940s. For this and so much more we thank Master Hayashi for his many contributions to the Reiki Healing Community.

Ashtanga

"Finding strength through the grace of yoga."

Since July 2012, I've been practicing Ashtanga Yoga and really enjoying it. For me yoga was only a workout, I never quite understood those people who say, "I really want to deepen my Yoga practice" and whatever else that sounded like, "blah, blah, blah..." to me. Being in class and thinking those things, and wondering why my yoga instructor was 'picking on me' lead me to want to know, "why are YOU being so judgmental? Why are YOU having these irrational thoughts? And why are YOU sensing a tightening in areas of the body that are usually ok?" Umm...in that realization the deepening of my yoga practice began.

Mirrors, mirrors everywhere.

I wanted to retreat, to quit, and just stay in bed, rather deal with my own shit, but that would not serve me, nor the people around, nor potential Reiki clients that needed my vessel to be clear. About three mornings a week I go to a Mysore Ashtanga Yoga class at about 6AM; to sum it up, a Mysore class looks like students doing their own thing, no music, a lot of audible breathing, and no teacher at the front leading the class. The teacher walks around, tells you what to do, and makes adjustments to your poses.

Even as I think of it, it hurts. Sleeping it hurt. And yesterday I "forgot" to  do that pose.

The most transformational thing is when your body opens on its own and can move gracefully through the poses. These poses mirror Reiki in a way, each pose has a history and potency because so many before have done them, much like the use of Reiki symbols. Both are powerful and sacred.

9/11/01 Never Forgotten

We Remember.

My Memories of 9/11

My mom rushed in my bedroom before my alarm clock went off for school, "Oh my God, turn it to channel 5!" I sprang up, turned on the TV not knowing what to expect. I saw the World Trade Center on fire, and then I saw a plane flying very low, very fast, and very close to the other tower. It crashed and went right through the 2nd tower. Pure shock is really the only way to describe what I felt, and what I would find out the rest of our nation felt as well. I was is in the Los Angeles area, in bed watching this thing happen, if a tower was on fire already, how in the world did a plane crash into it. I soon found out that was not the only plane to have crashed into it, and that other planes had crashed as well...what was happening on our soil?

I watched these towers, and saw debris falling to the ground, and then I realized it wasn't debris, those were people, someones family, someones best friend, someones love of their life, and they were plummeting out of windows knowing they would die by fire or die by their own split second decision. These people did not go into work that morning thinking they would be murdered in such a horrific way and public way.

As these events unfolded, know one knew who, what, or why this was happening, at least not in my recollection. At that moment this only only a NYC thing, I got dressed for school, feeling pretty icky about it, feeling like I was not suppose to move, feeling quit violated even though I didn't know anyone in New York.

As I prepared to go out of the door, I look at the towers and said 'that's gonna collapse', and it did. I headed for school, and I was a bit afraid, We were under attack. It made me feel like a target and that around any corner danger loomed, large crowds weren't safe. When I arrived at school, my first year of college, they said we could go home and be with our families.

When I got home we watched the news for hours as a family, absorbing the entirety of the events. My dad worked at Los Angeles International Airport, which was rumored to be a target, but thankfully was not...I cannot at all even fathom such a thing, and because of that none of us could stop watching, praying, and sending love to those victims and their loved ones. In the midst of watching, there was a particular camera angle that caught my eye, the camera looked up towards the towers and there was all this dirt and dust falling on the people...it chilled me to my very core. I had not remembered until that moment that I had been int he middle of a very disturbing dream before my mom shocked me awake that morning. I dreamed I was standing in a grave and someone was covering me in dirt, I couldn't see, I was in panic, and felt like I was being buried alive. The dirt I saw falling on me, in that angle, looked exactly like what I was watching on my television. I felt sick.  I have to wonder collectively what impact that had on us, as a Nation, as a unified energy, what did this do to us?

Nothing has been the same on so many levels.

Angel Card of the Week: Power Animal

Week of 9/10/12

This week's card, "Power Animal" is from Dr. Doreen Virtue's Angel Therapy Deck. We see before us a woman on a beautiful winged Unicorn, the woman looks graceful and empowered. I absolutely love animals, both real and mythical. I often dream of animals of all sorts, and often in these dreams they are simply gazing upon me in a timeless space, it feels like a transference of power. Animals are empowering, and healing each in their own way. There are hospitals and out patient treatment centers that have animals, usually cats or dogs, that come and interact with patients to aid in their recovery, it can really do wonders for the spirit.

So how do we find our own power animals? Ask and ye shall receive! There is no need to over complicate this or really any other kind of spiritual work, simply put your intention out there and you will receive what is in your highest and greatest good. Use this statement, "Animal Spirit, please come to me, please present yourself on my path, in my dreams, in my waking consciousness. Please allow me to understand your purpose in my life."

Watch and see how these loving creatures show up in your life. It could be quite literally on your path, or in your dreams, it could be in a painting or drawing, trust that their energy is there, and it is there to empower you.

Have a wonderful week!

Angel Card of the Week: Love/Compassion

Week of 8/26/12

This week's angel card is the Love/Compassion card from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle. On sight it really to pull at my heart strings, it's very tender, and very sweet. For such a seemingly soft and tender emotion, love can be a very powerful experience, it can overwhelm, it can inspire, and it can heal like nothing else can. There is a potency and a unexplained tangibility to it that not even science can fully explain. When someone is lying in a hospital bed and family or friends are near, its very healing and they are much more well off than if they weren't.

I did an experiment last night with this card, it was the last thing I looked at before I fell asleep, and asked my angels to explain I how I needed to interpret this card for you all. I must admit I expected a dream full of pretty imagery, much like my other dreams, vivid and pleasant. To my surprise that did not occur; I instead saw some rather dark imagery, and I was using Love (Reiki) to dispel it! It was no easy task, but I prevailed, or rather Love Conquered All, despite any fears or struggles, love won out.

I think the message is clear, no matter how overwhelmed you feel or at a lost, etc, trust that love, yours and or that of Spirit's will guide you to the best outcome.

Have a lovely week!

Disapproving Faces: Not Everybody Will Like You

from The Daily Om August 23, 2012

by Madisyn Taylor

Not everybody we meet will like us and it is ok to move into acceptance rather than trying to make somebody like you.

It is not necessarily a pleasant experience, but there will be times in our lives when we come across people who do not like us. As we know, like attracts like, so usually when they don’t like us it is because they are not like us. Rather than taking it personally, we can let them be who they are, accepting that each of us is allowed to have different perspectives and opinions. When we give others that freedom, we claim it for ourselves as well, releasing ourselves from the need for their approval so we can devote our energy toward more rewarding pursuits.

While approval from others is a nice feeling, when we come to depend on it we may lose our way on our own path. There are those who will not like us no matter what we do, but that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with us. Each of us has our own filters built from our experiences over time. They may see in us something that is merely a projection of their understanding, but we have no control over the interpretations of others. The best we can do is to hope that the role we play in the script of their lives is helpful to them, and follow our own inner guidance with integrity.

As we reap the benefits of walking our perfect paths, we grow to appreciate the feeling of fully being ourselves. The need to have everyone like us will be replaced by the exhilaration of discovering that we are attracting like-minded individuals into our lives—people who like us because they understand and appreciate the truth of who we are. We free ourselves from trying to twist into shapes that will fit the spaces provided by others’ limited understanding and gain a new sense of freedom, allowing us to expand into becoming exactly who we’re meant to be. And in doing what we know to be right for us, we show others that they can do it too. Cocreating our lives with the universe and its energy of pure potential, we transcend limitations and empower ourselves to shine our unique light, fully and freely.

Angel Card of The Week: Third-Eye Chakra

Week of 8/19/12

The angel card of the week is, "Third-Eye Chakra", this is one of the most beautiful cards in Dr. Doreen Virtue's Angel Therapy deck. Synchronicity seems to be the thread that holds my life together, over this past weekend I had many synchronistic conversations and revelations, and often times with these weekly angel card readings I find the card somehow relates personally to myself. Why is this card so synchronistic? Well, this week's card, the Third-Eye Chakra, is all about messages, psychic messages, messages from your angels, guides, crossed over loved ones, etc.

I had some wonderful conversations last week about this very topic! I am finding more and more people having these vibes, visions, and feelings that something or someone is watching them; there is a lot of talk lately about thinning veils...I believe wholeheartedly in a 'collective consciousness', and honestly do hope that we are ascending to a new level of consciousness in this much talked about 2012.  Either way, we are seemingly more open to receive and be aware, so as walk around in this newfound channel, why not be a clear channel?

This week ask yourself, are you clear in your Third-Eye? What can you release, how can you unblock and stagnation clouding your mental clarity? Ask your angels for assistance with this, Dr. Virtue offers this statement, "please clear my third eye of any old fear energies, entities, or other blocks or intrusions". Accept your that we as a global conscious are moving towards greater vision and clarity.

Enjoy your week!

Happy Birthday Grand Master Usui!

Today would have been our founder, Mikao Usui's 147th Birthday! His legacy as a healer, teacher, and guide lives on strong today. Each day countless people are discovering Reiki, becoming attuned practitioners of Reiki and continuing his work as healers and educators. So today I want to take simple moment to wish Grand Master Usui a very Happy Birthday! We thank you for guiding us, we thank you for rediscovering Reiki, and we thank you for sharing this gift with others.

Angel Card of the Week: Archangel Raphael

Week of 8/12/12

This week's card comes from Dr. Doreen Virtues' Angel Therapy Deck. It is always such a treat to receive the "Archangel Raphael" card! I think of Raphael as the Healer's Healer. This card is about healing, and channelling healing energy, "Raphael will send God's healing energy through you so that you're a conduit for Divine light and love." We are all capable of healing ourselves, feeling or channelling Divine love and light. If you are not attuned to a healing frequency such as Reiki, you need not worry, prayer works, visualization works! See, sense and imagine the Divine Love of God pouring over you, feel it coursing through you, and visualize yourself in your idea of perfect health. You can do this for yourself, for your loved ones, or anyone or thing in need of healing.

I am fortunate enough to live near the beach, and one of my favorite things to do is draw the Reiki symbols close to the water in the sand and watch the waves sweep it back in to the ocean. I image these symbols being carried to places I have never been and traveling across the globe healing our planet. If you are not a Reiki Practitioner, you can do this with other symbols like the heart, or the peace sign, be creative!  If you are not near the beach, you can fill a water bottle with water and draw the symbols as your pour the water out on some grass, use your imagination and good intentions.

Have a great week!

My Reiki Master Attunement Experience

Over the August 4th & 5th weekend I was blessed to receive the honored Reiki Master Attunement after a one year training course. The amount of love, joy, and gratitude that I felt in this one year, and especially over our weekend together is something I cannot fully express in words. I was attuned along with five other incredible friends by our beloved Reiki Master Marla Mervis of Living Light Reiki (Santa Monica).

As I prepared for the Reiki Master Attunement, (click here if you missed it), I felt detox symtoms beginning already, which I must say concerned me a bit, and made me wonder, 'If I am feeling this way already, then what will happen after the attunement?'  I had experienced some stomach discomfort after other attunements in the past. Upon arriving to my attunement location, I found out I wasn't the only one experiencing this, the others in my class were also experiencing, stomach/digestive issues, headaches and flus, as if our bodies were already in process to be 'changed'.

Our weekend was filled with exchanges of gratitude and tears of joy, laughter and sweetness as we closed our educational year together. This was my Reiki Master's first Master class, so this just made all the more special, we felt such pride for her and her dedication to teaching all of us, guiding us, counseling us, and so much more. A week later, I am still overcome by gratitude like I have never felt before.

The Reiki Master Attunement itself was amazing. It was very different from the previous attunements I had received. My experiences with Reiki I, II, and the Advanced Practitioner course (similar to the Master Attunement, but without the Master symbol), were all pretty mellow. I have heard of other's having these amazing experiences and visuals, but for me they were generally pretty calm. The Reiki Master Attunement was pure power like I have never ever felt before.

I closed my eyes and my Reiki Master started with the first person on the far left of me, I was the last one on the far right. As soon as she begun with the first person, I felt a wave or surge of power move over us from left to right. I soon became very much aware of several people in the room with us, I take it that these were our angels, loved ones who had crossed over, Spirit Guides and our Ascended Reiki Masters. I also felt intense heat, everything on me was hot like I was sitting near a heater. I felt someone standing in front of, on the right side of me, and behind me the entire time, even though I logically knew that my Reiki Master had not reached me yet. This gave me such great comfort. The Being in front of me I could see slightly, it was a white vibrating silhouette of a short woman with her hair pinned up on top of her head and arms in front of her, palms touching. When my Reiki Master did reach me, she proceeded with the Attunement, I felt some vibrations in my Third Eye, and then she was done. She left to do whatever else she had to do to complete the process, I continued sitting with my eyes closed and then very suddenly I left a powerful whoosh run thru my Crown down through my stomach, the very core of me, and then it expanded out! This very startling and unexpected. The only visual I can use to describe it was that of a upside-down mushroom cloud from an atomic bomb. It was very solid, very powerful, very purple, and just wow amazing!

When we shared our experiences after we completed the attunement process, my Reiki Master shared with me that when she finally reached me, she felt removed from her body and that Hawayo Takata had stepped in to attune me. I was speechless. I have a specially affinity for Madame Takata which I will share at another time; after hearing that, I was once again overcome with emotion.

We made our journey home, I experienced a pretty bad headache, some nausea & queasiness, and so much heat throughout my body. I was a bit wired when I came home, but when I did eventually begin to fall asleep, I kept opening my eyes, because I saw an outline of a very large transparent crystal, it was as though I was looking through crystal eyes. The second time I woke I saw what I can only describe as a bright orange wall of energy. The Third and final time I woke because I thought my boyfriend had touched my arm to wake me, but when I turned over her was facing the opposite direction and sound asleep. The next morning he asked if I had touched him, all I could do was laugh because I had experienced the same. This was a firm touch, as if someone was holding your arm fairly tightly, but in a non-threatening way. I'm not sure who touched us in this "I'm just checking in on you" sort of way, but I feel it was Madame Takata.

This past week has felt pretty easeful for me, I feel pockets of vibrational sensations in my body, and I sleep so deeply! I also have a lot of stomach rumbling, directly at the top of my stomach (Solar Plexus area), my ears are popping a bit, but overall I feel good. I feel a better sense of clarity and wanting to dissolve anything 'unnecessary' very quickly, I question things such as my role in relationship to others, what's fair and balanced even on the smallest levels, etc. I was also able to attend a Reiki Practitioner circle and use my new Reiki Master Reiki, LOL. The Reiki that night was very interesting, it flows a lot clearer and smoother, Reiki energy was already something pretty 'tangible' to me, but that has been boosted even more. While I was channelling for someone, I felt that bolted to the ground sensation which was amazing for me, because I tend to be one who floats on the ceiling, this solid grounding is very new to me.

I'm enjoying this journey, which will continue as long as I exist, as we all are dynamic works in progress. I have so much more to share, I have many business plans that I was able to dive head first into after receiving this powerful Master Attunement, so much more energy, clarity, and drive to see my plans through with the guidance of Reiki. I can't wait to share more soon!

Showing Up for Life: Actively Participating

by Madisyn Taylor
If you show up for yourself in your life, the universe will show up for you.

The way we walk into a room says a lot about the way we live our lives. When we walk into a room curious about what’s happening, willing to engage, and perceiving ourselves as an active participant with something to offer, then we have really shown up to the party. When we walk into a room with our eyes down, or nervously smiling, we are holding ourselves back for one reason or another. We may be hurting inside and in need of healing, or we may lack the confidence required to really be present in the room. Still, just noticing that we’re not really showing up, and having a vision of what it will look and feel like when we do, can give us the inspiration we need to recover ourselves.

Even if we are suffering, we can show up to that experience ready to fully engage in it and learn what it has to offer. When we show up for our life, we are actively participating in being a happy person, achieving our goals, and generally living the life our soul really wants. If we need healing, we begin the process of seeking out those who can help us heal. If we need experience, we find the places and opportunities that can give us the experience we need in order to do the work we want to do in the world. Whatever we need, we look for it, and when we find it, we engage in the process of letting ourselves have it. When we do this kind of work, we become lively, confident, and passionate individuals.

There is almost nothing better in the world than the feeling of showing up for our own lives. When we can do this, we become people that are more alive and who have the ability to make things happen in our lives and the lives of the people around us. We walk through the world with the knowledge that we have a lot to offer and the desire to share it.

Angel Card of the Week: Be Willing to Forgive

Week of 8/5/12

This week's angel card comes from Dr. Doreen Virtue's Angel Therapy Oracle,  Be Willing to Forgive. This title certainly says it all. This card has come up before, on my post from May 21, 2012, click here. Usually I will reshuffle the cards as not to repeat one that has come up so soon...with this I knew it was it had an urge to speak, but I still reshuffled got the card again, and my ego decided it didn't want that card so I left it until this morning when, well this card came up once again screaming at me to look at it.   If I have to look so do you, as we are all reflections of each other.

This card to me is all about self-love through forgiveness. This can be forgiving yourself, or forgiving others. Holding on to past suffering is not a loving act, it is a limitation on your soul's growth. Today personally I embark on becoming a Reiki Master, and it is imperative that I forgive right now. I had not realized that I needed to find forgiveness with anyone until they showed up a day before my Reiki Master attunement, know-coincidence! I had forgot about this person for many years, and when I saw them I realized that I needed to find forgiveness around that situation, and really my past actions towards that person.

Release yourself from any guilt you may be carrying for hurting someone, release the person who has caused you pain. Forgiveness is release, and clears a space for good to fill it.

Have a wonderful week!

Preparing for the Reiki Master Attunement

Tomorrow will mark the conclusion of my Reiki Master class, I will be attuned at the Master level.; and just because I will be a Reiki Master does not mean that I will stop learning, this is where the real life lessons begin. I really do not know what to expect, and perhaps that is a good thing. I have done my best to not speculate on how this attunement may differ from the previous ones, but I did let my curiosity get the best of me. I decided to 'google' "Reiki Master Attunement" and similar inquiries, to my surprise there was not much information on this. I did unfortunately find a lot of horrible misinformation about Reiki in general. Prior to this I have been pretty careful to not read anything online about Reiki, don't get me wrong, there are some quality sites, and genuine Reiki practitioners out there, but not very many. I told myself I would not read anything about Reiki since there were so many 'schools' of Reiki, and so many opinions, I wanted to focus on what was presented before me, but now that I am coming to the end of my formal Reiki education, I am wanting to see just what else is being said and what can I add to the pot. From all the misinformation out there, I can apparently add a lot! We must be much more responsible with what we are presenting!

Bust back to my attunement preparations.

In the week before my attunement I have abstained from alcohol, had little meat, and not too much caffeine...gotta love the coffee shops on every corner. I have Reiki'd myself daily, I did a house clearing with the Reiki symbols. In several of my first attunements and even some re-attunements, I would feel detoxing symptoms in my digestive system for a few days afterwards, and now ironically I feel like I am detoxing already. Butterflies maybe? Whatever it is, I'm a trooper, and it has not slowed me down. I have been up past 1:30 AM every night this week and still managed to get to work and function with reasonably high energy, my creative thought process has been moving very quickly. Something is happening, and I welcome clearing of anything not needed in my body or energetic field, but spirits, can we please do this with some grace & ease? Thanks.

Stay tuned folks! I will report my experiences with this attunement, and how it differs from the previous attunements that I have had before.

Dreaming of Fireflies

I had a really beautiful dream the other night. It was about lightning bugs, or fireflies. The dream was very simple, a dark background, that I actually recalled had a cool breezy temperature to it, like a nice Summer evening, and these beautiful little fireflies just hovering in the darkness. If you have ever seen fireflies in person you understand just how graceful these little bugs are. These little creatures hold a very sentimental place in my childhood memories. I grew up in the Mid-west and when you saw the first glimpse of lightning bugs, I knew summer had arrived, it was almost time for my birthday, and the 4th of July was near, Summer was a time of magic for me!

I write this post because I asked a question to my angels before I fell asleep. I asked them to please let me know they were there, because I had been feeling a bit off center. I know without a doubt that the Light will never ever abandon me, but I felt as tho they were taking care of some super top secret business on the "other-side" that was not for me to know about at this time. I will digress a bit further by saying that, for quite some time now, I have felt that my angels and guardians have been working very hard on something that will have a direct effect on my life and I have not been able to pinpoint it, and it has been driving me crazy. Its a weird feeling to have, especially when it has been hovering for so long. If anything comes out of it, it's that I appreciate my openness to feeling the invisible presences around me, and notice when they feel a bit further away.

To continue, I requested that my angels contact me in my dreams and let me know they were still near, and voila! Fireflies, my favorite in the bug kingdom, even more than ladybugs...interesting that my favorites are all beetles, and I recently learned that Cancer the Crab (my sun and rising sign) are represented by the beetle in Ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) Astrology, know-coincidences. Continuing on...I went for my trusty Animal Speak book by Ted Andrews to see what he had to say about my firefly friends, and sadly I did not see anything on the subject. But never fear, the Internet does wondrous things, like, give you a quote from another Ted Andrews book called, Animal Wisdom.

"For those to whom the firefly appears, it is time to trust in your own rhythms--physical and spiritual. Our hopes will begin to manifest, and our ability to inspire will grow. Fireflies remind us that there are others who will respond to us and who are like us. They flash with similar creative rhythms. They will make their presence known soon, and they will make our life more creative and healthier."

Seeing the lightening bugs in my dreams was so soothing and really put any anxiety I had to rest.

Here are some other keywords associated with the firefly as animal totem,

  • Inspiration
  • Illumination
  • Patience
  • Attraction
  • Energy
  • Hope
  • Aspiration
  • Guidance
  • Efficiency
  • Creativity
  • New Ideas
  • Awakening

I love building a relationship with my Angels, and trusting that they will respond when I ask them to.

Mercury Mess

I cannot recall a time when the Mercury Retrograde had such a fast effect in my life. I think we are about a week into it, and already my computer at work has died, which is why I have the time to write this post via smart phone. Gotta love the 21st century.

My day began well eeough, I was able to get myself out of my comfy bed at 5am for some yoga. I left my laptop at home because well, I have a very awesome computer at work, or so I thought. I arrived at work early to get some much needed work done, and wouldn't you know, it won't turn on.

Oh, I also forgot my belt, so I have to hold my pants, not to mention I discovered a tiny hole in my shirt...cn anyone say MERCURY!

Geez.

Despite it all, I'm not upset. Today I'm joyfully one of those people who spends the better part of their morning at a coffee shop on their phones, I'm sure the folks around me think I'm texting about something unimportant, well I'm not, I'm wondering why the guy next me is yelling at his significant other on such a beautiful day in such a melodramatic fashion.

I can only hope that the duration of this Mercury Retrograde brings more unexpected conveniences.

My apologies for the typos, grammar, and phone speak. ;-)

Angel Card of The Week: Dance/Celebration

Week of 7/16/12

This week's card comes from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle. This card says it all, Dance, and Celebrate! I can't help but hear "Celebrate good times come on! Woo-hoo!" by the great Earth, Wind & Fire group. Each week these cards speak to me on a personal level, and this week is no different. I had to take a brief hiatus from the Angel Cards readings last week, I apologize, but I have had quite a whirl-wind schedule, so when I saw this card come up, I felt like relief was just around the corner and it would be time to celebrate. This year has been passing by so quickly, and I have accomplished so much, with little celebration to balance out these personal joys.

Time is moving very quickly, we demand instant gratification, and we carry the 'world wide web' in the palm of our hand. With this economy being in the state that it is in, employers are demanding so much more for their money, which can mean longer hours and much more work than before. It seems challenging to take just a moment to congratulate yourself, or celebrate your wins, joys, or personal victories, no matter how big or small, praise is good for the ego, we do need a healthy ego to survive.

We are already more than half way through this magical 2012 year, take the time to reflect on your personal wins. What have you completed? What did you accomplished? Did you lose those 5 or 10 lbs from the holidays? Did you start a workout plan? New job? Promotion? Are you taking the stairs instead of the elevator? Celebrate yourself, your wins no matter what the size. I plan to celebrate myself by doing as little as possible. How will you celebrate?

One Year Reiki Master/Teacher Journey

It's been one year since I began my Reiki Master/Teacher journey, and the time has gone by so fast! I completed my last class a few weekes ago and I will receive my Master attunement the first weekend of August. I am beyond thrilled to be complete and ready for whatever loving journey I will be led to next once complete. I am doing my best to release any expectations that I have surrounding what may or may not come with this attunement. The hard part is over, I think. I dedicated one year of my life to the study of what it means to be a Reiki teacher, and I may never ever teach an official class, but knowing I can when I get the call is good enough for me. I had no real solid foundational reason behind becoming a Reiki Master/Teacher, meaning I had no aspirations to teach classes, I simply knew it was what I was suppose to do. It was a calling I had never ever felt before. I very rarely ever feel so strongly grounded in a decision, or so unwavering.

I have learned a tremendous amount about myself and my place in this world by going through this journey. Reiki is so much more than a 'hands on healing' modality, it's more than physical hands with energy running through them...last night I kept visualizing this very large bubble around me, and on the outside it was being held by Reiki Masters and Ascended Masters, they were smiling at me, it was really quite beautiful.

Reiki has held a space for me that I was not aware I needed holding. It opened doors that I thought would remain closed until the next lifetime, and it prepared me to receive love like I never knew possible. Being a witness to your own personal growth, witnessing your own transformation is life changing. I have watched people in my life change in many ways because I changed, I recognized the reflections that they were, and wether they are aware of the concept of mirrors, it doesn't matter, they changed too. I have witnessed so many challenging mirrors literal leave my life in one way or another, and it happened in such a peaceful and loving way. Reiki has become a way of life for me, it is a personal philosophy, and I have found the purity of truth in it.

What's to come after receiving the honored and esteemed gift of the Master attunement, I really do not know, I can only say I know it to be good, to be beautiful, powerful, and life changing. I know that life will not be the same after this, it's not even the same now. I have collected a foundational education in this life school, I just turned 30 a couple weeks ago (still can't believe it), and I have felt this dramatic change coming for the last several months. I usually have a great intuition about what is changing, but with this, I really have no idea, I know that whatever it is, I know that Reiki will be there with it's graceful and easeful way to see me through.

I thank you all who have been here on this journey with me from the beginning. This blog began with me sharing my experiences with my Reiki Master Class, and it has and will continue to shift into other topics as they come into my life.

...Til we meet again, stay blessed.

Angel Card of the Week: Earth Angel

Week of July 2, 2012

This week's angel card comes from Dr. Doreen Virtue's Angel Therapy Oracle Deck. The Earth Angel card tells us to be unconditional love. Lead by love, and love by example. Simply showing up as a being of light can help others tremendously! The simplest example is when you walk into a room and you feel the energy of it, it's can be a feeling of positive or negative. These are pretty basic examples of course, but we as creatures of light are filled with an innate love, and in this love is subtle but great power.

This week take note of your presence, and it's effect on the other people around you. Have a great 4th of July week!

Angel Card of the Week: Sisterhood-Brotherhood

Week of 6/24/12

My oh my, how time flies! This past week has been quite a busy one for me with work and my many, many, 'life projects'; I was not able to pull a card from my usual decks, however, I am never without something! Today I have my handy-dandy "Original Angel Cards" by Kathy Tyler and Joy Drake. I love these little cards, I keep them at my desk at work and pull them when the moment strikes, and sometimes I even offer them to my co-workers when they are having a rough day.

This week's 'little card' is the 'Sisterhood-Brotherhood' card. This sweet little card represents unity, and universal compassion for all of your human "brothers" and "sisters". There is something really unique about sharing food with people who were total strangers just a moment ago in the bar seat next to you, enjoying a concert and singing out loud with new found friends, or even getting dressed at the gym with your brothers or sisters. Appreciate these moments of human interactions, and really look at each one of these people, as brothers or sisters.

Have a great week!

Angel Card of the Week: Manifestation Power (2)

True today as it was on January 29, 2012...we have a repeat card folks! I really enjoy this card, Manifestation Power, it is a concept that has certainly been in the forefront of my mind in recent days. Manifestation is more than just wanting something 'good' to come your way, it is your actions, it is what you say, and what you think that manifests your reality whether you realize it or not. Be very mindful of where your thoughts are right now, you also have the unfortunate power to create negativity around you.

For the last few months I have noticed a very, very thin veil of otherworldly activity happening behind the scenes, and with that thinning it is my own personal belief that what we say, do, or think will approach more rapidly than usual. On the very awesome and bright side of that, now is the time that you can truly manifest something great and it will come much faster!

Click here to read Manifestation Power from 1/29/12.

Have a great week!

Angel Card of The Week: River/Movement

Week of 6/10/12

This week's card is from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle deck, and it is titled, River/Movement. This very beautiful card depicts a deep valley with a calm but steadily flowing river. When I look at this card I see consistant movement. This card gives me the motivation I need for this week, and I hope it offers the same for you. This river is moving, and it will continue to flow steadily, fast or slow, it is in constant motion. We as dynamic human beings are always in constant flow, or change, the circumstances surrounding us can behave the same way, but sometimes may seem to need assistance with momentum (change).

This week I will not ask you where things are moving or flowing in your life, but I will ask you to recognize what is stagnant? What is not moving in your life? What can you do to add momentum to your situation? You are in control of the world around you.

Have a great week!

Chakra Focus 7 of 7: Crown Chakra

Crown Chakra

Color: Violet
Element: Loving Each Other
Developmental Age: 55-70
Spiritual Strength: Spiritual Connection
Developmental Crisis: Mastery versus Distraction
from Susan J. Wright's The Chakra's in Shamanic Practice

Just after I began this blog, I decided I would begin exploring my Chakras. Our Chakras are such an important part of the composition of our Souls, I felt I needed to get in touch with the ones I 'neglected'. I held expectations when it came to writing about the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, I truly believed it would be the easiest for me to write, after all these were my two "favorite" Chakras...Today I sit here at my computer for the 10th or so time, attempting to write this post. I'm not suffering from any Writer's Block, I am only just now aware of the maturity and wisdom that comes with this Chakra, and really a bit blown away by it.

By nature I tend to 'live' in the Crown, I have labeled myself as "cerebral" or "verbally abstract", by which I mean I would rather write than speak publicly; I feel, much better than I speak, and find that my heart and head are one in the same. Allowing my feelings to just float around in the Ethers was much easier then to look at them and truly examine what they where, let a lone, why they were happening to begin with. In the last several weeks a few revelations have come to mind, I had to come to acknowledge just how foggy my thinking was and how that was coming across verbally, as well as what feelings were attached to them.

What does all of this have to do with the Crown Chakra you might ask? Everything and nothing depending on where you are on your Chakra Evolution.

The goal of the Crown Chakra can be described as recognizing your Universal Identity through Knowing Thy Self. The Crown Chakra is how we connect universally, and how we connect to Spirit. I wanted to be an active participant in my Evolution; to truly know myself I felt the need to examine each one of my chakras in a very honest way.  All of the Chakras below the Crown have an effect on how your Crown functions. Starting with the Root Chraka (our beliefs), the beliefs we have directly effect all other Chakras, beliefs are how we see and act in the physical world, and how we present our Universal-selves. When we can pause and recognize the many parts or identities of ourself we can truly begin to know and accept who we are, thus also accepting the truth of the Universe around us.

To me, the Crown Chakra is all about the your place in the Universe, you as the Universe; the Microcosm & Macrocosm, the As Above, So Below principle, the Crown is the ultimate Mirror.

To understand the Crown Chakra is to have true Universal Wisdom, and the goal is for clear and pure connection to Spirit, to the Universal Truth by way of Knowing Thy Self.

This completes my Chakra Focus! Hooray!!! I will continue to delve deeper into my Chakras, as a dynamic being my evolution is never complete, and only continues to grow. I hope that these Chakra Focuses have helped you in some way, and inspired you to explore yourself.

Angel Card if the Week: Meadow/Vulnerability

This week's card is from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle deck, it depicts a beautiful open meadow with wild flowers. The title says it all, vulnerability, this card is about exposure, and exposure means truth. The irony, or rather perfect synchronicity, is that we are right in the middle of a series of eclipses which are said to bring the truth to the light.

With vulnerability comes fear, fear of the truth coming out, or perhaps this is fear of your own personal truth, and fear of the judgements that may come with that. Whatever this fear may be, the best remedy usually is to face them head on and grow from them. Exposure can be liberating, the soul is meant to be lite and not weighed down by attempting to cover up who we are inside.

Know that now is the perfect time to embrace who you are and let the world see. Whatever you may be covering up in your world, that needs exposure, make the choice to accept it and allow it to come to fruition.

Have a great week!

Angel Card of The Week: Dragonfly/Emergence

This week's card is from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle deck, the Dragonfly/Emergence card is by far one of the most beautiful in the deck both visually and symbolically. This card depicts a beautiful nymph rising from the waters much like a dragonfly does once it is ready to be born. The dragonfly's larvae (egg) is dropped into the waters as a nymph and stays there until it is strong enough to emerge and make it's way back to land. This hatching is very much symbolic of a new stage in your life, a new level of maturity, or a new evolution of yourself coming to the forefront.

There has been something energetically brewing behind the scenes for a while, and I could not quite put my finger on why I was feeling so uneasy about it. Change happens all the time, and perhaps what I am feeling is my own personal acceptance of this much needed shift. To fully experience the benefits of change we must surrender to our fears and be able to emerge and move into our next evolution of maturity.

In our short four day week ahead, look at what makes you uncomfortable, in what area of your life do you feel a change is happening? Are you resisting this change? Why? Allow your new self to emerge and remove any self-limiting beliefs blocking your way.

Have a wonderful week!

Angel Card of The Week: Be Willing to Forgive

Coming off this beautiful New Moon Eclipse on 5/20/12, this week's cards I hope aids in the renewal that is now occurring for all of us, "Be Willing to Forgive". Allowing yourself to heal from past hurts, slights, or indifferences, can be such a great act of self love. Carrying around anger or un-forgiveness can be so damaging to our hearts, spirits, and physical body.

Forgiving something that is unforgettable is not the easiest task, but if I can offer a bit of advice, I would say to you, write down whatever the situation was, and what did you learn from it, view this as beneficial for yourself, your own private lesson. With the paper you wrote on, pray over it that Spirit takes this hurt and transforms it to peace, you can 'Reiki' your paper as well if it applies to you, and trust that your angels have carried this message to Spirit on your behalf. Trust that the healing process that is Forgiveness is taking place.

Have a beautiful week.

Angel Card of the Week: Fire/Passion

This week I am using Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle Cards, I am very excited about this week's card! This beautiful card depicts what appears to be a man blowing or "eating" fire from a torch while doing a ceremonial fire dance. This card takes on a deeply personal meaning for me as I approach this week. I feel as though I am coming out of a particularly dormant phase, or epoch, as it feels like it has gone on far too long. I have not been true to my creative desires, and frankly lost all passion, creative or otherwise, out of a sense of fear of failure

The last few weeks I have been immensely focused on my Sacral Chakra, the Chakra of creativity and desire. The Solar Plexus, just above the Sacral, is our own inner fire (ego), it is how we show up in the world around us. I have had a new surge of creativity, and in the coming months, this will become something much more tangible and healing for myself as well as others to use. As I complete the last couple of months of my Reiki Master Class, I find myself moving forward with a courage, and a fast pace momentum that I have not experienced in such a long time. I have a passion to create right now, but in a very useful and life changing way.

As this week begins, as yourself What am I passionate about? What are my desires? Am I pursuing my life's goals? Find out if you are just 'existing' in your own life without goals or passions, or if you have goals and passions, are you afraid to pursue them? Only you have these answers, and it may very well take longer than one week to find them, but you can start, and be on your way to living the life you have always desired.

As always, have a blessed week.

Synchronicity

One of my favorite concepts is the concept of 'synchronicity'. Much of my life has held what I consider to be synchronistic events, both big and small. The Daily Om seems to be on a roll with 'synchronistic' articles this week that seem to be mirroring my life experiences. Synchronicity is often viewed as being akin to a 'coincidence'. I do not believe in coincidences, I believe synchronicities have a deeper meaning, they hold a purpose, they hold information and lessons. Synchronicities are a guide post to let you know you are going in the right direction, and to continue following this path.

Just the other day, I left one of my final Reiki Master Classes, where I spoke of the Sacral Chakra and feeling I needed to focus more on personal creativity. No sooner then me leaving class, I bump into a gentleman who immediately begins asking me about poetry without any apparent reason. Poetry is truly my first love, and first creative outlet, something of which my Sacral Chakra craves right now. As I mentioned above, these synchronistic experiences are range from small to overwhelmingly miraculous.

May 4, 2012 Noticing Synchronicity Interconnected Experiences

Things happen in our lives for a reason, even if that reason is not clear to you right away.

When events appear to fit together perfectly in our lives it may seem at first that they are random occurrences, things that are the result of coincidence. These synchronous happenings, though, are much more than that, for, if we look at them more closely they can show us that the universe is listening to us and gently communicating with us. Learning to pay attention to and link the things that occur on a daily basis can be a way for us to become more attuned to the fact that most everything happens in our lives for a reason – even when that reason is not clear right away.

When we realize that things often go more smoothly than we can ever imagine, it allows us to take the time to reflect on the patterns in our lives. Even events that might not at first seem to be related to each other are indicators that the universe is working with, not against, us. This idea of synchronicity, then, means that we have to trust there is more to our lives than what we experience on a physical level. We need to be willing to look more closely at the bigger picture, accepting and having confidence in the fact that there is more to our experiences than immediately meets the eye. Being open to synchronicity also means that we have to understand that our lives are filled with both positive and negative events. Once we can recognize that one event is neither more desirable nor better than the other – they all have an overall purpose in our lives -- then we are truly ready to listen to the messages the universe gives us.

While we may not be able to see everything in our lives as being synchronous, we can certainly use hindsight to be more aware of how the universe guides us. This sense of wonder at the mysteries of the universe and the interconnectedness present in our lives will help us see our overall ways of being and will in turn make it easier to work more consciously towards our spiritual evolution.

Repeating Number Patterns

A few days ago I saw an article from the Daily Om discussing number patterns and it reminded me of my first fascination with them. A few years ago when I was suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, I began waking up in the middle of the night to be staring at my digital bedside clock. I had difficulty breathing with my lungs being week, my nose was literally fused shut and I had to do mouth breathing which can feel very claustrophobic while attempting to get a good night's sleep. These numbers began waking me up every night for at least a week, I saw 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, and even 5:55 AM. This began to feel like a cruel joke of sorts, I was terribly frustrated until I did some research and found that these were angels numbers. I felt deeply comforted knowing that my angels were announcing their dutiful watch, but also knowing that they probably saved my life, my breathing was gravely shallow. It leaves me wondering still if I would have died in my sleep if they had not intervened. Though I am healthy now, I still see these numbers that seemingly jump out at me, almost startling me, and I take a moment to feel what message is being sent. These numbers can take on a personal meaning, it can be a message from a departed loved one, or a message from your angels or guides. I have read many online pages, but I will let you Goolgle them, and find out what these numbers mean to you. Doreen Virtue seems to be 'mother of the angel market', you can read her meanings by clicking here.

Numbers: Repeating Patterns of Meaning

Published by the Daily Om May 2, 2012

Seeing number patterns repeating in your life is a signal to take pause and pay attention to it's meaning.

Glancing at the clock may cause us to look again sometimes, especially when we notice that we’ve caught it at the same time over and over again. Maybe we see the same number pattern echoed everywhere we look—whether on license plates or appliances—over a period of hours or even days. When we accept that there are no coincidences, we know there is a message in the numbers for us, and we know to pay attention to the repeating patterns and search for their true meaning.

Numerology has its basis in the ancient world and tells us that each number carries its own vibration and symbolic significance. It can mark the stages of our soul’s evolution as we move from one frequency to the next. Repeating number patterns in our lives may call us to focus on certain aspects of our lives and rise to approach them from the best within us. Once we’ve recognized that there is something we must look more deeply into, we also must trust that we will be guided to the people and places that hold the right answers for us.

Numbers, as symbols, can carry personal meanings as well. We may have our own lucky number that has served us well throughout our lives and another that reminds us of certain events of significance. If these are the numbers that are appearing, it may be the right time to delve into the past for clues about how to handle a present situation. Many people are seeing 11:11 right now, which can be interpreted as an energetic gateway that has opened for you and is ready to manifest your thoughts into reality. Whatever explanations you receive about the numbers that are appearing everywhere you look, the important thing is to trust your own guidance as to what they are telling you. Each culture attaches different meaning to the numbers, so a Chinese interpretation may be different than an interpretation from Kabalah. It is up to us to use our intuition to see which is the best fit for us. If someone has an explanation that doesn’t feel right, then this is not the answer for you but may be just a clue to keep you moving on the path. By paying attention to the numbers around us, we use them as tools to improve our connection to the universe and our awareness of our choices in life.

How to Incorporate Reiki Into Your Daily Life

For those of us familiar with Reiki, we can easily associate it with peaceful, calming, or relaxing feelings, but Reiki can also be fun and energetic as well. I would like to share the other uses for Reiki that you often do not hear about, with these additional uses you can incorporate Reiki into your daily life without it if feeling like you need to take the time to hold a special ceremony each time.

• Manifesting. There are so many books, blogs, videos, and seminars on this topic alone, it;s very hot right now, especially in what has been labeled a down economy. It seems like the general message is to just create a vision board, do some affirmations and visualize what you want. I have my own personal views on this kind of thinking, and since this is my blog, I will share them, I think it promotes unrealistic ideas and laziness. If you want something you have to DO something to receive it, Reiki is no different. There may be some authors out there who further explain true manifesting, but the idea seems to be cheapened by the mainstream media.
Before manifesting can even take place, you need to be clear on what you want, why you want it, and if it is in your highest good. Do you have any beliefs blocking you from what you think you wish to manifest? Reiki can help you decipher this integral part of manifesting. Once you actually know what you desire, you can use Reiki to infuse those needs. I created a "Manifestation Box" similar to a Reiki Healing box, and I write down what I wish to manifest, place it in the box, and then send Reiki to it.

• Infuse your food with Reiki. Hopefully you already pray over your food, you can Reiki as well.

Infuse your drinking water with Reiki, as well as the water you use for your plants.

• Reiki your car and driving route. I do this daily! I really have a ritual around this one, I get in my car and pray; I pray for myself, my car, and the surrounding cars. As I drive, I Reiki the road ahead, when I need to merge over to another lane, I Reiki the space to open it up.

• Parking, I love using Reiki to find a parking space, this is something I did prior to any experience with Reiki, I used what I called "parking angels".

• Reiki your Throat Chakra. I love sending Reiki to this chakra when I have to have a challenging conversation with someone. Challenging doesn't have to mean a argument, it can be an interview or speech. This can work also with needing to hear and really listen to someone else as well since the Throat Chakra overlaps with the ears as well. This principal can be applied to any of your chakras, as they all govern specified areas of the physical body.

• Reiki your shower head, or bath tub faucet. This idea of this is simply fabulous! Shower or bathe yourself in Reiki. Our skin is our largest organ, and it is very absorbant, why not nourish it with Reiki?

• Reiki in your workout? YES! A few months back I was in a grueling Kung Fu style boot camp class, very cardio heavy, which made you want to just stop and rest. I zoned out in the middle of my 100+ jumping jack warm-up and figured there had to be a way to use Reiki to help me get through this. Being an Advanced Practitioner I used a few symbols from my 2nd and 3rd Degree training, first the Empowerment Symbol and then the Increase Energy symbol. Using these symbols kept me focused and assisted with my endurance during the class.

This list could be endless, Reiki is a creative energy so go out there and explore how you can incorporate Reiki into your daily life.

Angel Card of the Week: Dreamtime/Creation

This week's card, Dreamtime/Creation depicts a beautiful scene, you first see a Native Aboriginal Man with a vibrant Didgeridoo creating a dream. In the sky it appears to be his possible ancestors, the Earth, some souls, and a variety of animals. His eyes are turned up, looking up towards his exposed Third Eye, and his higher up Chakras. He seems to be deeply tapped into the All That Is Possible.  Our dream time is often looked at as a fantasy, something not in our so-called reality, just our mind processing all that has happened in our last several earth-conscious hours.

In some indigenous cultures around the world dreams are more real than our waking states of daily consciousness. In our slumber we are at rest, we go through differing states of consciousness. It is my belief that we are at our most comfortable state of astral travelling. I cannot describe how many times I have been in a very deep sleep, felt the rush of travelling to my dream, time and space had no definition, and I felt completely detached from this present existence...and during some of those 'trips' I I felt as though I had come back too sudden, far to quickly, and was left wondering what and where I was, I had to sit and name off the members of my family and closest friends. There are also those sleeps where you felt as though you were doing some sort of work on the 'other side'. I am very adamant in my beliefs that these are not simply 'sleep patterns'  these are valid experiences and expressions of our state of being, and are to be learned from. In these experiences, I have also encountered animals, and people that I have never ever met in my present life, and have received invaluable insight from them.

This week it is my sincerest hope, that you please pay attention to your dreams. Write them down, as trivial or mundane as they may seem, and you may find answers to questions you did not even know you were seeking.

Have a blessed week.

Angel Card of The Week: Vegetarian/Vegan

The Vegetarian/Vegan card screams EAT BETTER! This card brings to our awareness the need to eat healthy green vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. Good health starts with the foods you put into your mouth. When you ingest healthy whole foods, you are eating foods not only good for the body, but also goos for the mind and the spirit. These foods are Reiki, these foods are vital life force energy, they are alive at the time you eat them.

Be mindful of what you are eating, and how you feel when you eat. And remember, to pray and or Reiki your food!

Have a healthy week!

Willingness to Feel - Opening to Understanding

From the Daily Om, April 23, 2012

When we are resisting something based on a limited understanding, we must then open ourselves to willingness.

There are times when we may find ourselves struggling or even fighting with our thoughts and emotions. We may feel that something must be done in a certain way or not at all, or there may be some other situation that feels absolutely black and white. But life is not this way—it’s the way we are looking at our experiences that is causing the turmoil within us. When we become aware that the struggle we are having is with ourselves, we can turn our attention to the source in order to solve the problem, but we must be being willing to look where we need to and feel emotions that may make us uncomfortable at first. Then we can choose to really open ourselves to understanding all the options we can imagine. We are likely to discover that we are resisting something based on a limited understanding, and we must then open ourselves to willingness.

When we are willing to look at all the possibilities, we also become willing to accept that there is room for more than we can imagine. We can release ourselves from the grip we had on our emotions and stop limiting ourselves. We may have been unwilling to experience feeling loss, confusion, fear, or even joy for some reason or another, but when we realize that our understanding was limited we allow space for the universe to move in our lives.
Opening ourselves to willingness may feel like we are surrendering or abandoning all that we believed. But at the same time it is an act of power and courage because it is a conscious choice we make about how to apply our personal will. Being willing is to be in a state of willing something into creation. It is at once allowing ourselves to be while also choosing to direct our energy in a focused way. It is being and doing from a place of openness, where we can work with the universe rather than resist it. It is an open hand rather than one that is clenched into a fist. When we make a step toward willingness, we open ourselves to truth, possibility, and the movement of the wise universe in and through our lives.

Angel Card of The Week: Dawn/New Beginnings

This week's card is from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle Deck, the Dawn/New Beginnings card symbolizes the coming new coming dawn after the darkness. This is a week to see any previously challenging situation with a sense of renewal. There is limitless opportunity to start over in an energetic sense; this ideal can be particularly beneficial if you feel trapped in a home location, a challenging job, legal contract, etc and may be bound to these things because of circumstances beyond your current control. You are always in control of your own perspective.

This week focus on shifting your perspective, shifting your circumstances if possible, and placing your energy on the new positive opportunities ahead of you.

Have a Great Week!

Angel Card of The Week: Mediumship

This is such an intriguing card, Mediumship, you may jokingly think of, 'I see dead people' when you hear it, or it may bring up emotions of sorrow, loss, fear, etc. The Mediumship card can take on many meanings, such as you communicating with a departed loved one, you being a Medium or conduit of sorts, or any other Spiritual Communicator. Upon first viewing this card, it conveys a beautiful message of the communication with loved ones who may no longer be physically present, they are certainly still existing on another plane.

The Mediumship card asks us to see, sense, smell, hear, or feel into those moments where a departed loved one, seems to be near. Trust in these feelings and know that they are still coming around to check on you. Trust that you can call on them and give them messages, they will receive them. Also be mindful of your dreams, they may have some insightful messages to you.

Have a wonderful week.

Angel Card of The Week: If You Get Nervous Focus on Service

This week's card, "If You Get Nervous Focus on Service," is not about you, it is about us. This card asks us to be of service in a public way, this can be as a healer, teacher, mentor, public speaker, etc. Many people get nervous and think about the I; that you may stumble with your words, or that the client being healed is not receiving the healing, or that the inforamtion you are sharing is not being received. Bring your mind from away from that line of thinking and focus on the reason for the action at hand.

If You Get Nervous Focus on Service, this is such a truly helpful statement, when I first started as a Reiki practitioner I thought I had to feel something and my mind would wonder if the client was feeling something happen. I know better now, with Reiki and other energetic healing forms, even public speaking, you may tend to wonder if your intention was received, but that you must trust that what is meant to transpire is happening in it's own way, or will happen at it's own time. I have had some amazing physical sensations while giving a Reiki treatment, where the client didn't seem to feel anything at the time. I have been on the other end of this as well, where I felt nothing when I was giving, but the client had a great experience. Reiki, like other intelligent energies (or intentions) will get to where they need to go, when they decide the time is right.

Remove expectation and see your being of service as beneficial no matter what. If You Get Nervous Focus on the Service at hand.

Have a Great Week!

Moon Turn The Tides, Gently, Gently Away

Reiki inspires so much creatively, whether it's music, poetry, visual arts, dance, etc.
I'm in such a musical mood tonight I thought I'd share something that always touches me...perhaps it's the beautiful Venus ruled Libra Full Moon that is floating across the sky, or perhaps it's me getting myself out of a funky week, and music seems to help quite a bit.

Music is very healing! I urge you to find your Theme Song!

I particularly love this one; this is one of Jimi Hendrix's lesser known songs to the mundane; Moon Turn The Tides, Gently, Gently Away. This is one of the prettiest, calmest, and suddenly intense songs! Jimi was always a bit on the gentle-manic side, and I too fall somewhere in-between.

Most of the song is his beautiful beach-tinged rhythms on the guitar,
he has one line that sticks with me, "I can hear Atlantis full of cheer."
In my mind he's playing his guitar on a beach on Neptune,
his intention is an Evocation of Beauty, to cause a stir in one's soul...
the skies are electric blue & pink, and he has lured
the cosmic ships out if the water.

Groovy :)

Peace & Enjoy

Angel Card of The Week: Integrity...Part 2

This week's card is a repeat from 2/12/12. Usually if I pull a 'repeat card' from any of my oracle cards, I will put it back and reshuffle, well I did that, and did that, and did it again, yet the 'Integrity' card continued to come up more than four times! I felt to hold my own integrity, I had to repost this card for myself as well as those who needed to read it. So, here we are again.

This week we must be reminded to act in a manner that expresses our inner truth. To quote myself from 2/12/12, 'We may engage in activities that feel good, and are good for us but fear judgement or ridicule from others.' To read my original post in it's entirety click here.

Listen to yourself, to the deepest parts of you and hold your integrity.

Have a great week!

Chakra Focus 6 of 7: Third Eye Chakra

Third Eye Chakra

from Susan J. Wright's The Chakra's in Shamanic Practice

It seems like when we hear 'third eye' we think 'psychic' or 'intuitive', and we are correct in think so! The Third Eye is all about those things, including in-sightfulness, clear perception, and the ability to be reflective. These last three may not sound as 'fun' as psychic, but they are such an important ability to possess, and you must have those before any psychic development can take place.

My goal was to have this post completed by the end of February, and that just did not happen. I was still finding my voice and smoothing out some blockages in my Throat Chakra. I feel much more confident there, I have become more vocal, while still listening to others with a compassionate ear. I have even joined a Toastmaster group! The Toastmasters are a group of people who practice public speaking to further their professional careers or to aid in self development. It was important that I felt confident moving on to the Third Eye, because here is where we find our clarity. Picture this, in my mind our lower chakras flow upwards to project out though our throat, all that we assimilate/develop emotionally moves upward, while the Crown and Third Eye Chakras flow downward through our throat. The central meeting place for expression seems to be the throat, which is why the Throat Chakra element is Ether. I like to describe ether as the energetic space in-between nothingness.

This past month and a half I took the time to do some self-reflecting, not deep thinking, but some personal observance. I did not do this intentionally or as an exercise to develop my Third Eye Chakra; but little I did I realize I was doing just that! I was being reflective without judgement of myself, I did not 'should' or 'shouldn't' all over myself. I just observed and saw the pattern that is my life. I feel as though I collected all these lessons, and now I am ready to move on to a new phase of life, one that allows me to direct with a spiritual force behind, and without personal ego.

Clear perception, another facet of developing the Third Eye, is asking yourself if you are holding on to untrue ideals or unrealistic expectations that developed from an egotistical place. Having clear perception is having the ability to clearly see or understand what is displayed before us, removing any preconceived expectations. Clear perception allows you to see/sense what might not be there physically, and this is where psychic development comes in. Think of a child, their mind and Third Eye is so innocent, there are no preconceived ideals or judgements, and they are more likely to see the unseen than most adults. In-sightfulness, is when you have your clear perception, and are able to learn from what you see or experience.

When we are insightful, we can begin to see the patterns in our lives. These patterns, I call 'synchronicities', still amaze me everyday! I experienced a synchronistic event just today, I decided to research Small Business planning this morning, and about an hour or so later I received a business card from someone who I did not inquire about Small Business, nor did I think that this person had any relation to legal advice pertaining to Small Business owners! This is a true story, and I literally mean every word I tell you. It makes me think I need to start inquiring about millions of dollars, maybe it will show up! However, I do not believe synchronicity works in that way. I believe I was open to receive something that was a part of a pattern in my life's path, and without the degree of clear perception I have, I may have blocked this important information that I sought. This also allowed me to feel that I was on the right path in needing to attain this information. This is just one of many, many examples; I have experienced synchronicity large and small, and each experience is amazing. Psychic events are not always big bold predictions, take each event large or small as a gift and further develop your psychic or intuitive skills from a clear space without pre-conception.
