Angel Card of The Week: Manifestation Power

This beautiful card asks us to recognize the POWER we all have to create our own reality. This is no 'Secret' or 'Law of Attraction', this simply is what it is, your awareness of your own responsibility for creating your own happiness or your own misery. Take a look at your lives, the people in them, the circumstances around you. Who created that? Who allowed that? You. If like what you see and what you have, great! Applaud yourself! However if you look around and wonder about your choices, don't feel badly, take note, and create a plan for reshaping the reality you wish to manifest.

Many people enjoy creating 'vision boards', taking magazine clippings, photos, words, etc and pasting them on a board. I like to write Letters To Spirit, and place them in my healing box, and then send Reiki to the box. Whatever you chose to do, really tune-in and ask yourself what your needs are, do you believe you can attain these things, and do you really want them? Trust in yourself and in Spirit, and know that they are on the way.

Chakra Focus 5 of 7: Throat Chakra

Throat Chakra

Color: Turquoise Blue
Element: Ether
Developmental Age: 25-40 years old
Spiritual Strength: Expression, Power to Manifest
Developmental Crisis: Generative versus Stagnation
from Susan J. Wright's The Chakra's in Shamanic Practice

I am so thankful for finally reaching this chakra. The Throat chakra was my whole reason for wanting to do monthly chakra focuses. I knew that before I could really do some work here, I would need to start from the bottom up, and for the last several months I have done just that.

The Throat Chakra is typically a turquoise or aqua color, and it regulates communication and creative expression. This is a very basic and generalized view of such an important chakra. This chakra communicates to the world who you are, how you express yourself, your creativity, and really it communicates all of the other information from your other chakras. How you think, how you express your feelings, body language, etc.

When the Throat Chakra is healthy you are able to communicate your truth, listen to others' truth, and live fully. While reading Susan J. Wright's The Chakra's in Shamanic Practice book, she says this is the chakra where we live our truth. In other words this is our most authentic expression of self, are we living someone else's dreams or expectations of us? Are we happy in where we are in life? Are we following an ideal that is not in alignment with our own? I feel that the answer for most people is NO.

I can only imagine and compare experiences from the work place, many people lose sight of why they chose the career they chose, was if because of a whim, your parents told you it was safe, or perhaps you truly wanted that profession...however when you finally landed that position, it was not quite what you hoped. The Throat Chakra begs us to find what can truly help you express your own unique happiness.

Moving from the Root Chakra all the way up to the Throat Chakra, I went on many self-discovery journeys, one of which was some Mirroring exercises. I needed to take a very deep look at people who I perceived to truly 'bug' me for no real reason. This is how I can tell when I have a 'Mirror'; when you have those people who really trigger something deep within you, and there is no real cause for it, it is most likely a mirror. During these discoveries, the trend that came up for me was the inability to trust what other people said, their behavior, and their mixed messages. On the surface they just bugged me, which in turn made me quite judgmental, but reflecting on what was truly gnawing at me was that I was seeing in myself the inability to clearly and effectively communicate. Working with my lower chakras, helped my Throat before I even got up there.

I am a very soft-spoken person by nature, I am always being asked to 'speak up'. I am most comfortable in my own mind and in the abstract world of intuitive feelings were a voice tone just does not matter. While living in a very physical world, too much of the Third Eye and Crown Chakras can cause an imbalance elsewhere. I was not speaking my truth for fear of ridicule, for fear of misinterpretation, and for fear of being too opinionated.

I'm not a huge fan of delving into my previous lives, but I do believe insight will find you and deliver it's message. Some years back I was offered a healing session with a Peruvian Sound Healer. It was a very nice experience, and then she began to tell me about a past life of mine. I was a Griot in an African Village, which was someone who was a charismatic public speaker, a poet, and a deliverer of the whatever the word happened to be. Apparently someone did not like my speaking at all, and had me hung. This stung to hear how I 'died', so much so that I dismissed her as mistaken. Of course I didn't want to accept this, but things made sense to me, having it pointed out in x-rays that my neck has 'very old injuries' that I know I never had in this life time....I was born soft spoken, I am beyond anxious when the spotlight is on me, though usually confidant in other ways, and in the last few year, I developed a cough I'm still seeking definitive medical answers for. I saw all this to say, it could have been a total fluke, she could have been pulling my leg, but I believe Spirit is always at work and answers are given to those who seek. However late, I received the message, and here I am with a blog, leading Reiki Circles, Guided Meditations and speaking to anyone who will listen to me explain Reiki, Astrology, or whatever other metaphysical topic I want to express.

We can heal this chakra through speaking our truth, listening to other's truth, expressing/creating/manifesting our dreams, and not denying our or other's truth. No lies, no mixed messages, just truth.

Reiki As A Spiritual Practice

It seems to be a common question in articles, blogs and books with Reiki FAQs asking, "Is Reiki A Religion?" The simple and truthful answer is no. Reiki is not a religion or 'faith'. Traditional Usui Reiki has roots that go back over 2500 years to Tibetan Buddhists, but it is not a part of the Buddhist religion. While Reiki is not a indoctrinated religion, I would say that some degree of faith is involved.

As a Reiki Practitioner, the understanding of Reiki is that it comes from an Infinite Source, The Most High, God, Goddess, or whatever other name for Our Creator you can think of. As this Infinite Intelligence flows, we are able to be of service to those who need us. I believe it is safe to say that most, if not all Reiki Practitioners have a belief in a Spiritual Intelligent Force; I myself cannot imagine operating without this belief.

Reiki as a spiritual practice gives us guidelines to live balanced, healthy lives, it asks us to take responsibility for our life choices, and our own existence. Reiki as a spiritual practice, asks us to act with positive morals, remove judgmental ways of thinking, speaking, and acting. Reiki gives us the ability to have Infinite Wisdom.

Reiki as a spiritual practice really helps you to "Know Thy Self". I cannot imagine where I would be, or what state of mind I would still be living in without having Reiki in my life. There was never a time in my life where I actually went through such deep self-discovery. I once told someone that Reiki was a platform, a springboard for unlimited fruition of whatever you wish to create for yourself. Some Practitioners go on to have a career in being of service through offering Reiki Healing sessions, while others like myself, will use it in every aspect of life. Reiki sheilds me from negative energy, I seem less and less effected by anger, it just bounces off much faster than before. I use Reiki to center or ground myself when I need to focus on work projects, when driving, searching for a parking space, etc. My greatest reason for becoming a Reiki Master, was that I wanted my children to be raised in this beautiful energy. For that to happen, 'future mommy' needed to Know Herself, and needed to make some changes in life.

Reiki is so much more than a laying on of hands or relaxation technique, it is a gateway to really knowing who you are. I have discovered how much I actually love myself. Sounds simple, we all love ourselves or at least tell ourselves that we do, but rarely do we really know what that means until we do some sorting out of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Looking close up at our own flaws, wether it's the ones we wear boldly outside or the ones we keep hidden from public view, it is no easy task, but when you do and make changes for your self, the love just pours in from your own untapped source. I can say that this is one of many things that Reiki has done for me.

This does not replace religion, there is no baptism, no speech to recite, it is merely a path you can choose or not to choose to take when called to it. There are Reiki Practitioners of all religions, faiths, and cultures, and it is truly beautiful to see them all in one room, with one intention of Love, and being of service.

Meditative Poem: Wisdom of The Stars

Close your eyes and prepare for a deep awakening
Hoist the Light from your body and Ascend into the Stars,
far above the Earth,
Stretch your arms out above you,
collect the brightest star you can find,
and let it fill you...

The star, travelling at infinite speed, it waves and ripples through you,
settling deep in you, glowing red, then orange,
yellow like the sun, and then green shooting out pink rays,
plunging up towards heaven, burning blue,
indigo, violet, until the star waves turn a brilliant white!

Ignited is your Lightbody,
ready, prepared for travel amongst the stars,
clear for take off, clear to receive the Wisdom of the Cosmos.

Wisdom is love, Wisdom is creation, Wisdom is given to those who seek It.
With your glowing Lightbody, you may travel far and wide,
grasping Wisdom at every moment...

Carry Wisdom back with you,
to your place on Earth,
share Wisdom in your being,
show Wisdom in your actions,
and in your speech.

Carry Wisdom in your heart,
and never stop seeking for more of Her.

Angel Card of The Week: Ancestors-Generations

This week's card is from the Earth Magic Oracle deck by Dr. Steven Farmer. The Ancestors-Generations card asks us to be reminded of our rich biological heritage. This card also represents the spirit-based connection we have to ancestors long past. Through our own blood and spirit, we have a direct link to higher guidance. In addition to our Creator, angels, and guides, we also have our ancestral kin-spirits traveling in our spiritual entourage.

This week, honor and remember ancestors who have come before you, even those you never knew. Through nature, we can be reminded that our ancestors are always around us, "In other words, they are in the trees, the water, the air, the animals, the stones--their blood being the very dirt and sand you tread upon. [Dr. Farmer]" When we past on, our bodies are returned to the fertile ground, the sea, or our ashes are lifted through the air continuing the cycle of life here on earth.

Meditative Poem: Soul Liberation Under The Sea

Imagine the sun dancing on clear blue waters,
inviting you in to swim.

You dive down deep,
deeper than your realized these gentle blue waters could go.

And on the way, you meet a mermaid,
she takes your hand,
guiding you,
releasing your fears,
and you go on to explore the depths of the sea.

Comforted by the mystic blue waters,
and your gracious aquatic guide,
you feel your soul expand!
Free to explore without bound, without limitation.

At the seas very depth,
you find a beautiful shimmering light
that guides you to long buried treasure.

You peek inside, only to find a old mirror.
You look into it, and find your childhood self smiling back at you.

You expand with so much joy,
you accelerate all the way to the top of the sun-kissed waters,
flying above the water like a dolphin.

Making your way back to the shore,
your mermaid guide waves with the mirror in hand, and says,
'Come back anytime'

Revenge

I found this to be a beautiful, and truthful article from The Daily Om, enjoy.

Thoughts of revenge create an energy of imbalance and is best dealt with by releasing your anger.

There can be times when we get so angry with someone that we find ourselves imagining ways to seek revenge for the hurt they’ve caused us. Remember, however, that the thoughts you’ve just had are energetic creations. In order to keep yourself from having to take part in the rebalancing of energy, it is important to release the person and the thoughts into the care of the universe with forgiveness.

Before we allow ourselves to invest our energy into negative thought or action, we can remind ourselves that everything has a purpose. We can then consider that perhaps the actions of the other person or people may have had nothing to do with us. If we don’t take their actions personally, it may be easier to release them. Remembering that every interaction is an opportunity to make a better choice, we can take a deep breath before responding, allowing us just enough time to connect to center and make the choice to respond from our higher self. We can never know all the circumstances that may have led anyone to do anything. By not passing judgment on anyone, and instead sending hope for their healing, we may create something positive out of a difficult situation. We can then release it, since dwelling on it can cause an energetic drain in our system, causing us to really only hurt ourselves. When we can release our hold on negative events and interactions, we leave it in the hands of a wise universe to work out the best solution for all involved.

In every moment we have a chance to make a choice to bring light into the world. When we bless others with the gift of our positive energy, instead of letting circumstances affect us negatively, we bring a little peace to the world every day.

Space Clearing With Reiki

Most of us are exposed to other people on a daily basis, through that we encounter their energies, and unfortunately they may not always be carrying around the most positive of energies. We can become exposed to their toxic emotions and end up irritable or ill because of it. I'm a firm believer that physical dis-ease and illness manifests on and outer level before reaching our physical bodies. Even the common cold; it's common for a reason, and a great indicator that our body needs to purge and take a break. With all the people that we encounter, it is very possible that we are bringing them into our homes, our place of work, or whatever other physical space we are in. These physical locations can hold stagnent or just plain 'ol negative energies there, and they need to be cleared.

There can be many other reasons for needing to clear your space, such as:

Psychic Vampires--They Really Do Suck.
You know those people who almost seem content when miserable, and would love nothing more than for you to join them? I can be a sucker to this as an empathic soul; or conversely, a horror to them with my overly optimistic attitude when I am on high alert. They usually run the other way when I won't join in and when my response is too look on the bright side. These people can leave you feeling drained and tired much like the vampires from the movies. Instead of sucking your blood, they suck your energy.

In-home Visitors.
You home is like your temple. A very sacred place. I am personally very apprehensive of allowing people into my home, maybe it's because I'm a Cancer and the home is my sacred source of strength and recharging. This is where I am most sensitive because it is where I am most comfortable, and I imagine most people feel the same way. I frequently clear my home space after various people come by for parties. Why? I like the 'normal' flow of my home to match my laid back temperament. After such heighten energy, I feel most comfortable turning it down; think of it as adjusting the temperature.

So how do we protect sensitive selves? First of all we can shield ourself, not putting up walls, but by setting boundries. A boundry can save many relationships, and save you from some energetic unpleasantness. A boundry is like drawing a line in the sand, or perhaps placing some invisible space in-between you and perceived trouble. Boundries require no dismantling, whereas those impenatrable walls can take some time.

Protecting yourself with Reiki:
Depending on the level of your Reiki attunement , you can use your Reiki symbols. Draw your symbols around you as if you are in a invisible box, all four sides of you. Do the same the same on top of your head, and below your feet. Some people prefer the "Reiki Box', I personally like the egg shape, since it matched the aura; however, I do use both for different purposes. If you are not attuned to Reiki, or if you are at Reiki level one, you can do this by visualizing white or golden light around you and praying. I like working with angels, and different colors; the color for Reiki is a deep purple/violet. You can use different colors for specific protection or to invite different angels in, or draw specific energies to you (that's a post for another day!).

Clearing you space at home
Step 1: I light my candle(s) and my sage on my altar space. You can substitue sage for and incense or something similar, as long as you know it's intended to clear. I take some deep breaths to drop in and center.  I set my intentions for my clearing, and 'activate' my Reiki. Depending on what school of Reiki you are from, use the method most comfortable to you. If you are not attuned to Reiki, simply pray, set your intention for your space clearing, and ask your angels for assistance.

Step 2: I start by using the sage around myself. I breathe it in, and move it all around my body, both front and back. I then start with the room I am in and use my Reiki symbols on each wall of that room. You can use whatever symbols you wish. As I do this I am speaking out loud my intentions for what I want in my space, banishing negative energies from my space, and inviting my angels & guides to stay with me here in my space. Do this for each room if you feel it is needed. Depending on the frequency of your clearings, you may only want to clear particular rooms. Remember to clear your doorways, specifically the entrances to your home.

Step 3: Place your sage down, say your thanks, ask your angels & guides to continue watching over you, guiding you, and protecting you. Pray as needed. Breathe in your new space, and believe me, it will feel new, as if you opened up a window and fresh air came through! Enjoy.

Wether you are a Reiki Practitioner, empathetic, or both like myself, you may be picking up on the many energies out there without even realizing it. Being attuned to Reiki energy is marvelous! We have tools to aid us in this life.

Have a blessed clearing experience, and remember to be careful when using fire to light your sage or candles, protect yourselves and keep out of reach your children.

Angel Card of the Week: Throat Chakra

I couldn't make this up I wanted to....I am working with my Throat Chakra as this month's Chakra Focus, and there are some particular issues with 'speaking my truth' that I have been avoiding, and here comes the Throat Chakra card to remind me its OK to face them. Synchroncity will follow you, like it or not, and it is just a reminder that Spirit is loves you enough to watch over you.

This card represents out throat chakra, this is where we speak, express our creativity (or sacral chakra expressions) it is connect to our ears as well, so how we listen. During this week think about what is it that you are not saying, what it is that you are not listening to, or what you are not expressing. Do you have a hidden talent that you need to share with the world? Do you need to journal and release your thoughts & feelings? Perhaps you simply could benefit from inviting more music into your life. Whatever it is, find it this week, make an effort to speak up more if you underutilize your voice, or be quiet and listen if you do most of the talking.

Meditative Poem: Star Power

Imagine above you,
a bright shining star.
It glows a pale yellow-gold,
and radiates sparkly beams of Light.
Let those beams fall down on your head
like gentle raindrops, illuminating
your Crown.

You're a beacon of Light,
you have Star Power,
and your Crown can be seen from the Heavens.

You are Divinely guided by this Star,
and therefore never alone,
never without guidance.

It is your inner knowing,
it is trust,
it is your way back Home.

You are a blessed Blessing,
you are a star.

Card of The Week: Love-Compassion

This week's card comes from Dr. Steven Farmer's Earth Magic Oracle Deck. Love-Compassion. How could you have one without the other? When I first saw this card, I instantly thought forgiveness. Through the power of love and compassion all things are possible, and without it, misery is sure to invade what could be such a blissful life. Dr. Farmer says, 'Forgiveness is not only letting go of judgement, but also seeing through the illusion that you and All-That-Is are separate.' This is powerful statement, it evokes the feeling that holding a grudge is so foolish because you are cutting yourself out of the light of Spirit; you are detaching from the Light and choosing to separate from Spirit.

It's your choice to forgive.

This week, look at what limitations you have placed on yourself by holding grudges or not forgiving someone. By doing this, perhaps you will see how you have created a disadvantage to yourself, missed out on happiness, lost friends or damaged relationships. This is merely a first step to clearing a pathway for more love-abundance. Over the coming weeks or even months, journal and reflect each forgiveness you need to give, go deeper and look at why this lesson was created for you. Start by forgiving yourself first. If you blamed Spirit, forgive and ask to be forgiven.

May peace & love be with you all.

Altars: Creating Your Own Sacred Space

There is something so special and so sacred about altars. While some people may feel an altar is something spooky & cultish, or best reserved for a Church, you may have one in your home and not even realize it. An altar is a sacred space, it can be a central point in your home where you go to pray, where you place religious symbolic items, photos of family members, or other objects that you hold dear to you.

I found myself creating altars for the last several years without even consciously realizing. As a teen I always had small round table in my room and it was reserved for all my pretty little trinkets, candles, flowers, cards and photos. Every time the seasons changed I placed an object there to honor it. As I grew into adulthood, my altar became the front window seal, I placed all sorts of plants, crystals, and sometimes notes of my Letters to Spirit (manifestations) there. It was like being on auto pilot, no one told me to do this, I was not brought up by family who did this, I simply did it and it felt good to me.

Now as I am on this journey as someone channels Reiki, I have deliberately 'setup' and altar for healing, manifesting and clarity. I bought a small side table with a shelf and cabinet. I keep it pretty simple, candles, sage & a abalone shell, meditation (symbols) chimes, and my distance healing/manifesting boxes. I find myself going there several times a week, either to add someone to my distance healing box, lighting the candle and taking a moment for myself after work, or to breathe in the cleansing aroma of sage.

On my desk at work I have a montage of family photos and a small box of angel cards, this is my place to be reminded of Spirit during fast paced work day. I didn't intend it to be an altar, but it has that wonderful effect.

You can be as creative as you want with your altar. In Denise Linn's book, Altars, she has some great ideas and beautiful imagery to help get you started. Some ideas she lists are altars for healing, honoring family who has passed on, art& creativity, small desk altars and many more. You can use materials you already have at home, you can create stone altars, wood, etc. Make it work for you.

Before you set up your altar, 'announce' your intentions to the Universe and allow objects to come to you. Once it is set up to your liking, light some candles and speak to Spirit out loud. Speak your intentions for your altar, bless it, cleanse it, and affirm it as Sacred Space. This is also a great time to 'clear your space'.

Listen to your soul, you will know what to do from there.

Enjoy it.

Card of The Week: Release

Happy New Year!

Some of us tremble at our very core, at just the thought of releasing or letting go of anything. We can become so fiercely attached to something, wether it's good or bad for us, and develop a fear of releasing. Step outside of the situation and attempt to see yourself happier without what is presently holding you back. This release could be as big as letting go of a relationship that no longer serves you, a place of work, or simply a unhealthy habit. When you allow yourself to release, you are preparing a space for something new to come in, and this is exciting!

Release, this is a New Year, a bright time to start new goals.

When one door closes, another one opens....sometimes you have to be the one to close that door to move on to greener pastures. Pray, talk to your angels, trust and let go.

Happy New Year & Peace be with you.
